Overhead Medicine Ball Throw

EQUIPMENT NEEDED
Medicine Ball
STARTING POSITION
Find the appropriately weighted medicine ball and stand in front of a sturdy wall.
Put your arms in the air, holding medicine ball overhead.
PROCEDURE
- Make sure to keep your arms back and overhead.
- Bend the arms behind the head with the medicine ball resting almost on your neck.
- Launch the ball overhead extending the arms upward and forward.
- Catch the ball and repeat.
COACHING KEYS
- Flex the abdominals when releasing the ball.
- Start by standing closer to the wall and step further away as you get comfortable with the movement.
