Single Arm Snatch

Equipment Needed

Dumbbell

Starting Position

Standing with dumbbell in hand.

Procedure

 
  1. Find the appropriately weighted dumbbell.
  2. Hold the dumbbell straight in front of the body with hand centered between legs.
  3. Squat down until your glutes almost touch the floor.
  4. The dumbbell should be between the legs and almost touching the floor.
  5. Explosively move upward briefly coming off the floor, while at the same time bringing the arm overhead.
  6. Land and compress into the ground by squatting down and then returning to the starting position.
  7. Repeat.

Coaching Keys

 
  • This s a modified Olympic lift and you should seek the proper coaching before performing.
  • Keep abdominals tight.
  • Move very explosively.
