Fit Ball Squat to Medicine Ball Press

Equipment Needed

Fit Ball and Medicine Ball

Starting Position

Find the correct size Fit Ball and correctly weighted medicine ball. Place the ball against a wall and then the small of your back against the ball. Hold the medicine ball at your chest with elbows tucked into sides.

Procedure

 
  1. Bring your feet out in front of your body, two to three feet.
  2. Lower your body until the thighs are parallel with the floor.
  3. Push upward through the heels of your feet, your quads, and hips until you reach the starting position.
  4. Push the medicine ball up and overhead, making sure to bring the elbows in line with the ears.
  5. Bring the medicine ball downward to the chest.
  6. Repeat for the suggested number of repetitions.

Coaching Keys

 
  • When squatting down, make sure that your knees do not travel too far over your feet. If this is the case, move your feet forward.
  • Push through the heels of your feet on the upward portion of the movement.

You Should Feel it...

In your quads, hips, arms and shoulders.

Exercise Purpose

Improves total body strength. This helps increase skiing stability.
